Although Pensioner Campaign UK is a non political organisation we were pleased to
affiliate with them to support the issues surrounding the elderly in the UK and especially
in Scotland.
They have kindly agreed for us to have some of our own information on this site but
its enclosure does not in any way suggest they support our politics but rather our
stance on pensioner issues such as pensions, care, funding, respect etc
How can Britain afford the state pension we want ? I think that this is probably
the most important issue we have to confront. We have been demanding a significant
increase in state pension since 2003. We sought £160 at the start of 2003 which
we since, in 2008 increased to £180 and now it need to rise to the EU average of
11.2% GDP. We have always tried to back up our demands with solid facts and figures.

THE STATE PENSION STILL OUR FOREMOST CONCERN We have to do more to show that Britain
can afford our demands so after John Swinburne (ASPP Leader) was elected to Holyrood,
we did a substantial amount of research to highlight the disgraceful standard of
our pension system in comparison with other comparable countries. That research is
still relevant and it has never been questioned by the so-called main parties and
we are proud to be affiliated to Pensioners Campaign UK who does so much work and
